Cosgrove Guitar Studio

"The goal of my studio is to put out some well-rounded guitarists. To do this, they need to be good readers. They need to read standard notation, chord symbols, tablature, and lead sheets. As far as improvisation, most can read the chord symbols and strum them for the given beats.

The guitarist who gets the job is the one who goes beyond the 'status quo' and incorporates elements of melody and voice leading into their guitar arrangements. Last, but not least, a well-rounded guitarists needs to have a solid technique. To do this a player must make sure that every movement is executed with precision and relaxation. A good teacher is one who can keep all these goals in mind while keeping the student's motivated with enjoyable pieces, etudes, and exercises." -Matt Cosgrove
